Circuitous: The Inspiration

The idea for Circuitous has bounced around in my mind for many years. The original Mass Effect game, released in 2007, featured some interesting mini-games. One of those mini-games was a circular-Frogger game.


I really enjoyed playing it and I found myself wishing there was more of it in the game. I also found it very difficult to master the hard levels, but there wasn’t the opportunity to practice. If you died, you failed, and there wasn’t the chance to play again.

Finally, after many years I decided I wanted to make my own version of it, and attempt to explore the idea and push the concept further. It took me quite a while to decide which game engine to use, but I finally landed on Unity and so far I’m very happy with the choice.
